Offsetting your Carbon Emissions

At the Nature Trust we are very conscious about our carbon footprint. Learn how you can take action to help offset your carbon emissions. The emissions from flying can be particularly harmful to our environment. To help account for this environmental impact, we encourage participants to add $200 to their fundraising goal as a symbolic offset for carbon emissions and to further protect our environment. These funds will go directly towards the conservation of wilderness in Nova Scotia, reducing the impacts of climate change and restoring vital habitat for wildlife.

What is the Carbon Footprint from the flight?
Approximate flight distance from Halifax to Iceland, return: 3,350 km (1.1 tons of CO2)
Estimated cost to offset this through land conservation: $100
