Berg Adventures International

As one of the world’s leading adventure travel and mountaineering companies, Berg Adventures provides unsurpassed experiences for the discerning traveler in many of our planet’s most amazing natural locations. Personal achievement, cultural learning and an unsurpassed dedication to your adventure travel experience—that’s the Berg Adventures promise. Wherever they go, Berg’s goals for adventure are the same: to give you the opportunity to reach your travel and trekking goals abroad while fostering cultural awareness and personal growth. They believe strongly in responsible travel and have long been committed to running ecologically sensitive, low-impact adventures.

Berg Adventures International was founded in 2001 by Wally Berg and operates out of the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Canmore, Alberta. Wally Berg is one of the most respected guides in the mountaineering world. With four Everest summits to his credit and over two decades of expedition-leading experience, Wally is world-renowned for his expertise, knowledge and mountaineering accomplishments. Thanks to Wally’s long-standing presence in the places that BAI travels and to his high standards for excellence, BAI works with only the best guides and support staff who will keep you safe, comfortable and engaged with your surroundings.

Your trek will be led by Berg Adventures International's owner and founder, Wally Berg, who is a world renowned "Seven Summits" guide. Also guiding your adventure will be Chilean guide Felipe Voullieme and Berg's Leila Silveira, an enthusiastic whitewater kayaker, climber and traveler who can also offer you plenty of information on extending your stay in Chile (and South America). Please feel free to contact her directly at leila@bergadventures.com.

Offsetting your Carbon Emissions

At the Nature Trust we are very conscious about our carbon footprint. Learn how you can take action to help offset your carbon emissions. The emissions from flying can be particularly harmful to our environment. To help account for this environmental impact, we encourage participants to add $200 to their fundraising goal as a symbolic offset for carbon emissions and to further protect our environment. These funds will go directly towards the conservation of wilderness in Nova Scotia, reducing the impacts of climate change and restoring vital habitat for wildlife.

What is the Carbon Footprint from the flight?
Approximate flight distance from Halifax to Chile, return: 19,000 km (1.9 tons of CO2)
Estimated cost to offset this through land conservation: $200
