The Expedition at a Glance

Date: September 22-29, 2018


Each participant pays for the cost of the trip, airfare and commits to meeting the fundraising goal.

A breakdown of the costs per person are listed below and do not include airfare. The cost of the trip varies depending on the number of team members.

10 members: $2,420 

11-12 members: $2,350

13-14 members: $2,280

15 and above members: $2,210


Fundraising Goal:  Minimum $2,500 per participant 

The Nature Trust will provide support to help you meet your fundraising goal,  including setting up a page for you to receive online donations, providing useful documents and incentives. For more fundraising information click on the "fundraising info" tab above.

Location:  Ecuador- Termas Papallacta, Otavalo, Fuya Fuya and Cuicocha- Guinea Pig Lake

There is no registration deadline. However, registration is encouraged as soon as possible to reserve your spot on the trek.

Saturday September 22nd

Arrival and overnight in Quito.

Altitude: 9,350 ft/ 2,850m

Sunday September 23rd 

Travel to Upper Amazon Basin.

Overnight: Termas Papallacta Resort & Spa

Monday September 24th and Tuesday September 25th

Hiking in Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve.

Overnight: Termas Papallacta Resort & Spa

September 26th 

Head north to Otavalo.

Home base for the next three nights will be a restored 17th century hacienda.

September 27th

Hike in the Cotacachi- Cyapas ecological reserve. Hike around Cuicocha (Guinea Pig Lake).

September 28th

Climb Fuya Fuya. Summit: 13,986ft/ 4263m 

September 29th

Return flights to Canada
